explained.

A message to the viewer. Know that I am intentional with all things that I do. I do things with my soul, my vision, and my purpose. If I do wish to communicate, it will be through the form of art. And only art.

Breaking down the message of the video above, we can split it down into multiple meanings that the artist, Vance, is trying to portray. During this recent span of two months, he has started to explore film and the power of cinema to portray a message. He loves Daniel Caesar's music. The song is "Show No Regret."

1) In his interest and observation, he is often met with the question "Why are people not in love with the profession and field of work they choose?"

He questions this existentialism through the music. But as shown in the video and analyzing the physicality of the film, he is seen walking away from the camera. The walk itself is of pride. The chin is up, the shoulders are rolled back, and there is no questioning of his purpose. So, as he moves towards his desk in the building he studies in, he is seen appreciating the solitude and quietness of the space. The silence and early morning fuel him and allow for mediation and recognition of gratitude.

2) Moving onto the audio, the lyrics

"Never forget, it's what you ask for.

Show no regret. Show no regret.

But at what cost? What am I giving up?

But at what cost? I always find myself here."

What does this mean? He again questions existentialism but his own. He questions whether or not he regrets the decision he has made leading up to the present. His career, his people, and his purpose. It is as if he is telling himself to not "regret" the decisions and to not show them. What is he giving up? Again, friends, family, and past relationships. And for some odd case, when he struggles with an issue, mentally or physically, big or small, he finds himself at work--at his desk, fulfilling his purpose which is to create art.

3) Finally, the last message he is trying to convey is to an ex-lover. In this split, he questions the decisions the lover has made. With efforts to re-establish what was, there seems to be no sign of solving the issues that were erected from ignorance and immaturity from both sides. He recalls the words of her words, and although he sticks to his final words before the split, she seems to recall to his soul. As he is walking away from the camera, it is portraying the walk away and maturity to move from the past relationship.

"Never forget, it's what you ask for." = Recalling the memories of her words.

"Show no regret. Show no regret." = He recalls his decision to stand by his last words.

"But at what cost? What am I giving up?" = What was on his mind the days after the split.

"But at what cost? I always find myself here." = He always finds himself in some issue. The solution is to be in his studio, work on his purpose, and journal down his thoughts.

The sunset... speaks for itself.
